"Goodbye" by S.E. Waller 1880s
A dirt layer was obscuring the highly detailed image.  It had never been cleaned before.

Country Landscape with Grazing Cattle by W. Gillard
The painting was suffering many problems: flaking paint, distortion, a thick dirt layer, discoloured old repairs.

This painting had a small tear, some loss of paint and was obscured by a thick layer of dirt and discoloured varnish.
